OTT Navigator: Installation and Setup

OTT Navigator is one of the most feature-rich IPTV players for Android, Android TV, and set-top boxes. Like any player, it is just a shell: it has no channels of its own, so you need an active subscription with a provider and the provider’s login details.

Step 1. Installing the App

From an App Store (recommended)

  1. Open Google Play or RuStore on your TV, set-top box, or smartphone
  2. Search for OTT Navigator IPTV
  3. Tap “Install”

Via APK (for devices without an app store)

Download the installation file only from the developer’s website: APKs from third-party sites may have been repackaged, and you will be entering your subscription username and password into the player.

  1. Download the latest .apk from the official source, either to a USB flash drive or directly to the device
  2. In the security settings, allow installation from unknown sources
  3. Open the file in a file manager and complete the installation
  4. Turn off unknown sources again. It’s safer that way

Step 2. Adding a Provider

On first launch, the setup wizard will prompt you to add a source.

Xtream Codes (preferred)

  1. Select “Add provider” → “Xtream Codes”
  2. Enter the server address, username, and password; your provider gives you these details
  3. Tap “Apply”: the playlist, TV guide, and archives will be set up automatically

Via an M3U Link

  1. Select “Add provider” → “Playlist (URL)”
  2. Paste the direct link to the M3U playlist
  3. Enter a name and tap “Apply”

Step 3. TV Guide (EPG)

If you added the playlist via M3U and the TV guide didn’t appear, add it manually.

  1. Open “Settings” (the gear icon)
  2. Go to “Providers” → “EPG”
  3. Tap “Add EPG” and paste the link to the XMLTV file (.xml or .gz)
  4. Save and wait for the TV guide to finish its initial download

Step 4. Key Settings

All settings are accessed from the side menu: press “Left” or “Menu” on the remote.

  • Decoder. In the “Media player” section, HW+ or ExoPlayer is recommended as the main decoder. If the sound drops out on some channels (AC3) or video stutters, change the decoder type for that specific channel or globally
  • Auto frame rate. Go to “Media player” → “Auto frame rate” and enable either the system or the built-in option. The screen refresh rate will then adjust to the frame rate of the video stream
  • Hiding clutter. In the channel list, hold “OK” on a category or channel and select “Hide”
  • Favorites. Long-press “OK” on a channel → “Add to favorites” to keep the channels you need close at hand
